MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Ben Hanowski had a goal and an assist as St. Cloud State beat Minnesota State, Mankato 3-2 Saturday to earn a split in their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
David Eddy scored at 9:07 of the first period to give the Huskies (5-5-2, 3-2-1) a 3-1 lead.
Adam Mueller pulled the Mavericks (3-7-0, 2-4-0) within one early in the third period. But St. Cloud State goalie Ryan Faragher made 11 of his 29 saves in the third period.
MSUM outshot St. Cloud State 31-19. Mavericks goalie Austin Lee turned away 16 shots.
Cory Thorson also scored for MSUM.
Eriah Hayes had MSUM's other goal.
MSUM won Friday's series opener 4-2.
