St. Cloud St. Beats Denver 3-2
DENVER (AP) -- Aaron Marvin scored the game-winning goal with 1:36 to play as St. Cloud State beat Denver 3-2 on Friday in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game.
Brett Barta and Ben Hanowski also scored for the Huskies (15-15-5, 11-12-4), who have won three straight games.
Denver's loss, combined with Minnesota-Duluth's win over Nebraska-Omaha, created a tie between the Pioneers (20-10-5, 16-8-3) and Bulldogs for second place in the WCHA with one game remaining. Both teams have 35 points.
Nebraska-Omaha has 34 points.
Hanowski's power-play goal gave St. Cloud State a 2-1 lead after one period. Luke Salazer had the first goal for Denver and Nick Shore tied the game at 2-2 with a goal at 3:54 of the third.
Mike Lee made 32 saves for St. Cloud State and Sam Brittain had 26 for Denver.
