St. Cloud St. Beats Bemidji St. 2-1 In OT
BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) -- Nic Dowd scored with 28 seconds left in overtime to lead St. Cloud State to a 2-1 win over Bemidji State on Friday.
Dowd's shot was one of two shots on goal by each team in the extra period.
Nick Jensen staked St. Cloud State (10-11-2, 6-8-1 WCHA) to a 1-0 lead at 6:37 of second period. The lead lasted until the 18:45 mark when Matt Read scored on the power play for the Beavers (9-12-2, 5-10-2).
The Huskies failed to score on five power play chances.
Neither team put much pressure on the opposing goalie. Bemidji State's Dan Bakala made 25 saves, while St. Cloud State's Mike Lee stopped 22.
St. Cloud State had a 27-23 shots-on-goal advantage.
