St. Cloud Man Arrested After Domestic Assault Incident
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 35-year-old St. Cloud man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Thursday, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
At 2 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff's office received a report of a domestic assault on 200 block of 190th Avenue Northeast in the Glendorado Township of Princeton, Minnesota.
Authorities say the assault was discovered when a St. Cloud police officer made contact with the adult victim at a business in St. Cloud and noted her injuries. The victim told the officer that her boyfriend were arguing earlier that day when he struck her, choked her, kicked her and pushed her to the ground.
Investigators determined that the victim's injuries -- and statements from witnesses to the assault -- were consistent with her allegations.
The suspect, Jeremiah Holmberg, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. by the Sartell Police Department. He was taken to the Benton County Jail where he's awaiting his initial court appearance.
