Spirit Airlines To Fly From MSP Starting Thursday
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) -- Starting Thursday morning, you should be able to fly new direct lines to Chicago and Las Vegas, as Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport welcomes a new airline service.
Spirit Airlines will begin flying from the Twin Cities to both Chicago O'Hare and Las Vegas starting May 31.
Those two destinations should allow travelers to then connect with an additional 20 airports across the country.
Spirit Air is known for both rock-bottom prices and also fees on everything from carry-on bags ($50) to boarding passes ($2). On their website, a flight to Chicago was listing at $28.
The new airline will be flying out of Terminal 2, which was until now dominated by hometown Sun Country Airlines.
When the deal was announced, the Metropolitan Airports Commission said Spirit was the fourth new carrier to add service at MSP since 2008.
The Twin Cities has the 11th highest airline prices in the nation, reports say.
