Spanish 'Dracula' To Be Shown At Minn. Cemetery
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The 1931 Spanish language "Dracula" will be shown at a historic Minneapolis cemetery on Wednesday night.
The screening is a fundraiser for the Minneapolis Pioneers and Soldiers Memorial Cemetery.
Proceeds will help restore the steel and limestone pillar fence that serves as the cemetery's border along Lake Street and Cedar Avenue.
The movie will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at 7:30 p.m.
George Melford directed the Spanish version of "Dracula." The movie was filmed on the same sets and at the same time that the English-language version of "Dracula" starring Bela Lugosi was being filmed. The English version was filmed during the day and the Spanish version at night.
