South St. Paul Man Killed In Crash In Wis.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in Wisconsin say John Alfred Burnside, 72, of South St. Paul, died Sunday in a crash in western Wisconsin.
The crash happened minutes before 2 p.m. on CTH T near the Interstate 94 exit ramp, the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office said.
Burnside, who was driving a Ford Taurus, was stopped at a stop sign on the eastbound off-ramp from I-94. Witnesses told police Burnside was pulling away from the stop sign when his car was hit on the driver's side by a Ford Edge, which was travelling south on CTH T.
Burnside was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Edge's driver, 38-year-old Amy Olson of Hammond, Wis., and her 4-year-old son suffered minor injuries; but they did not go to the hospital.
All three involved the collision were wearing seatbelts, the sheriff's office said.
The crash is still under investigation.
