Slow-Moving Storms Cause Flooding In Northland
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Heavy rain caused widespread flooding in parts of northern Minnesota.
More than 2 inches of rain fell quickly Monday and caused streams to overflow in Itasca and west-central St. Louis counties. The National Weather Service issues a flash flood warning for parts of the North Shore.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation closed Highway 65 from Nashwauk to Togo because of flooding. Sheriff's deputies reported some washouts west of Cook in St. Louis County.
Slow-moving storms brought heavy rain to Silver Bay, Tofte and Grand Marais Monday night. The Duluth Tribune says the weather service received a report of flooding on Highway 61.
