Police Seek Public's Help After Mpls. Shootings
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Police are asking for the public's help to solve recent shootings of three young boys in north Minneapolis -- in a year that has seen a decline of violent crime in the area.
Two of the victims died. Thirteen-year-old Rayjon Gomez boy died Wednesday, and 14-year-old Quantell Braxton died Saturday.
Police say they've seen a rapid but unexplained increase in gunplay in some neighborhoods of north Minneapolis.
Police Chief Tim Dolan is asking residents to come forward if they know anything about the shootings. He's also calling on neighbors to be watchful and call police if they see anything suspicious, and he wants parents to keep children out of harm's way.
Dolan says parents should bring kids indoors in the evenings, saying police will step up enforcement of curfew laws.
