Sheryl Crow Takes Holiday Train To Cottage Grove
COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) - The Holiday Train arrived in Cottage Grove Saturday with a very special mission.
For the 15th year, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train rolled into town to help raise money for the Friends in Need Food Shelf.
The evening's events culminated in a concert by superstar Sheryl Crow, who brought a touch of California warmth to the cold Midwest.
A cappella gospel group Take 6 also performed to the crowd, which was estimated at 15,000.
On Sunday, the Holiday Train will stop in Loretto at 4:30 p.m., Buffalo at 6 p.m., Annandale at 7:30 p.m. and Kimball at 9 p.m.
The train will end its journey on Dec.16 near Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Friends in Need Food Shelf expects to serve 38,000 people this year. In addition to the donations fans brought to the concert, Canadian Pacific pledged $125,000 to help feed hungry families.
