Sheriff: Monticello Man, 52, Drowns In Lake Mitchell
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a 52-year-old Monticello man was found unresponsive in Lake Mitchell and later died.
According to Sheriff Joel Brott, Paul Pohlkamp was swimming and anchored around a friend's boat on Lake Mitchel in Big Lake when he was discovered unresponsive in the water.
After Pohlkamp was lifted into a boat and taken to Big Lake Public Access, emergency responders attempted life-saving efforts, but they were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.
