Sheriff: Rural Aitkin Co. Man Arrested After Remains Of Michelle Mae Found On His Property
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A rural Aitkin County man is in custody in connection to the death of 35-year-old Michelle Mae, who went missing on October 3.
Investigators found Mae's vehicle in Swatara on October 4, and the 34-year-old suspect was arrested the next day for probation violation.
Search crews combed a five-mile radius for the next 10 days, eventually finding Mae's remains on October 15 on the suspect's rural property.
The suspect is awaiting criminal charges. Mae's exact cause of death is still under investigation.
