Sheriff: 1 Dead In Bemidji Restaurant Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One person is dead after a shooting at a Bemidji restaurant.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's office says the fatal shooting happened at Mi Rancho restaurant on the 600 block of Ann Street Northwest.
Witnesses told police the restaurant wasn't open for business when the shooting occurred. Workers were preparing for the usual noon lunch rush when a former employee forced his way into the back door and started an altercation with a few of the employees, ultimately ending in the death of one of them.
A suspect is in custody -- although he or she has not been charged -- and the sheriff's office says there is no threat to the public. Police say they're still investigating the incident.
