Suspect arrested after Maple Grove police standoff
MAPLE GROVE, Minn. -- Police say a standoff in Maple Grove ended peacefully overnight and the suspect, who barricaded himself inside a home with a gun, has been arrested.
The standoff happened on Yorktown Lane next to the Elm Creek Park Reserve. It began Wednesday night and police said it was resolved just after 12 a.m. Thursday. The community was asked to shelter in place during the standoff.
A 59-year-old man was arrested and is being held on charges related to domestic assault, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
