Severe Weather Risk For Central, Western Minnesota Sunday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Strong storms rolled across Minnesota early Sunday morning, and more are expected Sunday afternoon with western Minnesota at risk for severe weather.
Storms early Sunday brought heavy rain and lightning across Minnesota and skies cleared across most of the state by 9 a.m. But a second round of storms will develop Sunday afternoon, and some could be severe. Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says a line of storms should develop in far western Minnesota by around dinner-time.
The line should push east and could hit the Twin Cities metro overnight. There could be lingering showers for the Monday morning commute.
Augustyniak says central and western Minnesota are at the greatest risk for severe weather on Sunday.
