I-94 Near Rogers Reopens After Serious Injury Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said two people were airlifted to a hospital after a crash closed westbound Interstate-94 near Rogers for more than three hours Thursday morning.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 10:09 a.m. on westbound I-94 near Brockton Lane, which is just east of Highway 101. The Minnesota State Patrol said five people were hurt in the crash and that all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash happened after a Dodge van blew out a tire, lost control and overcorrected, striking a truck that then crashed into Honda motorcycle.
Raymound Fellows, 54, of Elk River, was driving the motorcycle, and was injured in the crash.
Three of the four people in the Dodge van suffered injury. They were identified as 25-year-old Casey Krrause, who was the driver, 34-year-old Robbert Beck and 31-year-old Laura Beck. Another passenger, 38-year-old Billy Phillips, was not hurt.
One of the truck's passengers, 22-year-old Bradley Sandford, suffered injury. The driver, 41-year-old Scott Pierce, did not.
Authorities said westbound I-94 was shut down for hours at Maple Grove Parkway. The left lane of eastbound I-94 was also blocked as emergency crews worked. The interstate was reopened to traffic shortly after 1 p.m.
The State Patrol is being assisted in investigating the crash by the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, Maple Grove Police and Rogers Police.
