Sen. Klobuchar Weighs In On Target Data Breach
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The U.S. Justice Department is now involved in the data breach at Twin Cities-based Target Corporation. Sen. Amy Klobuchar says it's an indication that officials must be onto whomever committed the crime.
"Target is a hometown company, and this has been very difficult for them," Klobuchar said.

She said it's also been hard on customers.
"This is a high impact sophisticated theft which we are seeing more and more of today," she said.
Klobuchar said she believes that in addition to investigating this crime, it's also important to make sure that cyber security is up to speed with the technology of today.
"There are going to be some updates with credit cards. The companies will be replacing the magnetic strip with a data chip by the fall of 2015," she said.
She said the solution will have to be a combination of prevention and going after the criminals with full force.
