Semi Overturns On I-35W, Spills 80,000-Lbs Food
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A semi truck carrying 80,000 pounds of food overturned on Interstate 35W Monday morning, closing the road while crews clean up.
It happened around 10:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near downtown Minneapolis.
According to MnDOT, the semi was heading through the commons with Interstate 94 when it flipped.
No one was injured, but 80,000 pounds of food spilled over the road.
I-35W south was closed at Portland Ave. while crews cleaned up. They needed to offload all the food before the truck can be tipped back up and taken off the road.
The interstate reopened at around 4 p.m.
