Search For Human Remains In Mankato Resumes Friday
MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -- The search for the source of a human bone found in Mankato cut short by snow in November will resume this week.
Authorities will bring in specially-trained cadaver dogs to search Friday for what they believe are human remains in the area. A dog brought a bone to its owner's residence last fall.
When it was found to be a human bone, authorities tried to have the dog bring them to the spot where it was found. When that didn't work, a cadaver dog and 30 officers also tried to locate possible remains, but didn't find anything.
The Mankato Free Press reports that 26-year-old Matthew Albrecht of Mapleton was the only person reported missing in the past several years.
