SD, MN Troopers Conduct I-90 Safety Operation
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Highway Patrol troopers from South Dakota and Minnesota and local law officers are cracking down on traffic violators on a stretch of Interstate 90.
The daylong enforcement effort between Chamberlain, S.D., and Fairmont, Minn., began at 6 a.m. Thursday. Officers are focused on enforcing laws dealing with seat belts, speeding, and drinking and driving, on the interstate and also on state and county roads in the area.
South Dakota Patrol Capt. Kevin Joffer and Minnesota Capt. John Ebner say the goal is to make the highways safer.
