SCSU To Transition To Tobacco-Free Campus
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- St. Cloud State University will soon implement a policy to eliminate tobacco use on its campus.
On Aug. 1, tobacco use (smoking and smokeless) will be restricted to outdoor designated areas only. A year later, the campus plans to be completely tobacco free.
The change comes after a year of campus-wide discussions about the university's tobacco policy. A 13-member Smoking Policy Review Task Force has been reviewing the current policy and public health information since October.
St. Cloud State will offer education, awareness, support and cessation services to the campus community.
