Sal. Army Holds Final Toy Shop Of Season
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - It's a big weekend for the Salvation Army, who held their final Toy Shop Saturday in St. Paul.
As of Friday, they've already helped 25,000 children in the Twin Cities this holiday season. And more families will be helped Saturday.
Jeff Olsen of the Salvation Army explained how the Toy Shop works.
"Volunteers come through and they have a list of the children in the family, and then they put together a bag and then we give it to the people who are being served by the Salvation Army," Olsen said.
There's also a "Triple Match Challenge" for Saturday: anything that goes into the red kettles all day will be matched by three generous donors. $1 million is the match maximum.
