Sabo Bridge Reopens To Traffic Friday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The first phase of repair work is done and the Sabo bike and pedestrian bridge in south Minneapolis is set to reopen Friday morning.
Work crews have been busy in the area repairing the bridge after a pair of support cables broke loose last winter, making it unsafe for pedestrian and bike traffic. Crews finished the first phase of work earlier this week.
There are other phases involved to completely repair the bridge, but those phases don't require city officials to shut down traffic on Hiawatha Avenue underneath it.
