Rubio Is 3rd Among West Guards In All-Star Voting
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Ricky Rubio is parlaying his early success into a surprising amount of All-Star votes.
The NBA released its first returns for All-Star voting on Thursday. The Timberwolves rookie is third among Western Conference guards with 133,520 votes.
Rubio fans will have a lot of work to do if they want to vote him in as a starter to the game in Orlando, Fla. Rubio is more than 460,000 votes behind Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul, who is in second place. Lakers star Kobe Bryant leads all players with more than 690,000 votes.
Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is fifth among Western Conference forwards. Love is the Wolves' top vote-getter with 143,814 votes.
Voting can be done at NBA.com and will conclude on Jan. 31
