Rodgers, Matthews Lead The NFL In Jersey Sales
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Expect to see plenty of Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews jerseys this season.
The Green Bay Packers stars are the top NFL players in jersey sales from April through August. They knocked off the former No. 1, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu.
Three other Packers also made it into the top 25. Cornerback Charles Woodson is No. 12, and receivers Donald Driver and Greg Jennings are Nos. 23 and 25 respectively.
Not surprisingly, the Super Bowl win helped drive interest in Green Bay jerseys. The Packers led all teams in jersey sales last season, with Rodgers second in individual sales and Matthews eighth.
However, Steelers fans have picked up the pace this season. Pittsburgh is currently the top-selling team in terms of jerseys, with Green Bay second.
