Rocori Holds Community Meeting On School Safety
COLD SPRING, Minn. (AP) -- The Rocori school district is holding a community meeting to discuss school safety -- after two students brought weapons to school in April.
The St. Cloud Times has reported the meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Rocori High School commons.
Some parents raised concern about how the incidents were handled.
On April 12, a 13-year-old boy brought a loaded gun to school and pointed it at another student. There was no lockdown and police were not immediately contacted.
Superintendent Scott Staska has said a lockdown was unnecessary because the situation was quickly controlled.
On April 20, a girl brought a pocketknife to school.
Both students were expelled.
The meeting will be like one held in 2003, after two students were shot and killed in Rocori High School.
