Rochester Man Sentenced 5 Years After 11th DWI
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Rochester man was sentenced Friday to five years in prison after being convicted of his eleventh DWI, in which he was found driving while high on meth and cocaine.
Judge Tim Wermager sentenced 47-year-old Michael Andrist to 60 months in prison after he was found guilty of driving while impaired on Feb. 29, the Dakota County Attorney's Office said.
Andrist's conviction stems from an incident on July 3, 2011, when Andrist was reported driving 70 mph on the shoulder of Highway 52 and repeatedly going into the ditch. Tests completed by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension showed Andrist had been using cocaine and methamphetamine.
Andrist has been convicted of driving while intoxicated 10 other times. He has also been convicted of fleeing police officers in a car three times .
