Robbinsdale Parents Fight School Bus Privatization
ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Parents and bus drivers are going to take their fight against the possibility of privatized busing to school board members in Robbinsdale.
The parents and bus drivers plan on speaking out against privatization at 5:30 p.m., prior to the school board meeting in New Hope.
According to the SEIU Local 284, research shows privatizing school busing leads to lower quality of service and accountability problems.
According to the district, moving to privatized bus service could save more than $2 million in operating costs the first year.
The board is expected to vote on the issue March 5.
