Robbinsdale Man Gets 11 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Robbinsdale man was sentenced Thursday to more than 11 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in Minneapolis after she got off the bus.
Anthony Legrette Farrar, 23, also was sentenced to 88 months to run concurrently with the 135 months for a first-degree burglary conviction that appeared to have been an attempt at another sexual assault.
On March 22, Farrar followed a woman off the bus in Minneapolis, forced her between two buildings and began forcibly fondling her breasts, according to the criminal complaint. She fought with him and screamed. He ran when someone looked out the window from one of the homes.
The next day, just before noon, a woman was startled to find a man walking through her unlocked apartment door in the 300 block of Oak Grove Street. The man said he was looking for Ian.
She told him she had the wrong apartment and to leave. Instead, he put his hand over her mouth and began dragging her into the apartment away from the door. She struggled and managed to bang his head against the wall and get away. He grabbed her messenger bag with her cell phone, headphones and papers and fled, according to the criminal complaint.
Farrar pleaded guilty to the second-degree criminal sexual conduct and burglary charges on June 28.
