Road Closures For Metro Motorists This Week
ROSEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Motorists in the Twin Cities will need to find their way around a few closures in the coming days.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Interstate 94 will close overnight in both directions in Minneapolis Wednesday into Thursday.
The closure will stretch between Plymouth and 26th Avenues North. The ramps will close at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, and the road will close in full at 1 a.m. Thursday. Both directions should reopen by 5 a.m.
The closure is so that CenterPoint Energy crews can test pipelines under the roadway, which is the same reason MnDOT is giving for a closure on Highway 100 this week.
Highway 100 is expected to close in both directions between Highway 55 and Duluth Street starting at 1 a.m. Friday. The closure will again only last for a few hours before the road reopens by 5 a.m.
Another road closure metro area travelers should note is Highway 62 between Highway 169 and Interstate 35W.
As crews work on resurfacing the road, eastbound Highway 62 will be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday. The closure is set to last until Monday morning.
