Road Closures As Twin Cities Resurfacing Projects Begin
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A number of roads will be closing later this week as construction crews begin working on resurfacing projects around the Twin Cities.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that the first of eight week's worth of delays and detours will affect motorists using Highway 169 between Highway 55 in Golden Valley and 77th Avenue in the area of Maple Grove starting on June 7.
The southbound lanes will close for four consecutive weekends, and then on July 12, lane closures will affect the northbound lanes, weather permitting. All lanes will remain open during the July 4th holiday weekend.
MnDOT is also planning on conducting another resurfacing project on Friday, June 7 and Friday, June 21. University Avenue and 4th Street Northeast will see delays as crews either reduce traffic to one lane or close the roads off entirely.
