Report: Twin Cities Air Getting Dirtier
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The American Lung Association is out with its "State of the Air" report for cities across the country, and the grade given to one Twin Cities county could take your breath away.
For the first time in the 13 years the Lung Association has been issuing its report, a Minnesota county -- Ramsey -- has been given an "F" grade.
Bob Moffitt of the association says air across the Twin Cities may be dirty enough to violate EPA standards. The chief source is car exhaust.
"We've been stuck in traffic more, those engines are churning away and a lot of that air pollution is hanging in our air and, unfortunately, getting into our lungs," said Moffitt.

According to Moffitt, if the EPA's review next year results in similar findings, Minnesota could face requirements such as getting "clunkers" off the road.
