Report: Standoff In Lake City
LAKE CITY, Minn. (WCCO) -- A WCCO-TV crew is en route to Lake City after reports of an apparent standoff.
The Lake City Police chief said the lockdown situation in the town was precautionary, but the Rochester Post-Bulletin reports the standoff began at 5:30 p.m. outside a Lake City man's home.
Nearby Lincoln High School went into lockdown, the paper reports, as students were only allowed to leave after-school activities if they had rides waiting.
The newspaper states that much of the area surrounding the school is blocked by squad cars and officers with rifles.
Lake City is 70 miles southeast of the Twin Cities on the Mississippi River.
