Lockdown Lifted At Burnsville High School; No Weapon Found
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- Burnsville High School went into lockdown for several hours Tuesday following a report of a weapon in the building.
The lockdown at the school, located on 600 block of Highway 13, went into effect around 11:30 a.m. Burnsville police spent hours searching the building. No weapons were found.
Shortly after 3 p.m., the district said that the lockdown was over and students would be released classroom by classroom. After school activities and athletics at the building were canceled.
Buses will run their normal routes, and students will be allowed to leave in their cars, school officials said. Parents were told they'd be able to pick up their students in the school's parking lot.
