Police Give NDSU The All-Clear After Bomb Threat

FARGO, N.D. (WCCO) -- Fargo police have given the all-clear at North Dakota State University and classes will resume around 2 p.m., according to KGFO in Fargo.

The entire campus of NDSU had been evacuated over a bomb threat on Friday morning, according to a report in the Fargo Forum newspaper.

KGFO said the police searched the campus and found nothing suspicious.

A note on NDSU's website had said: "NDSU is requiring all employees and students to leave campus by 10:15 a.m. This includes residence hall students, who, if necessary, should walk to locations off campus. This also includes the downtown buildings and agricultural facilities.

"NDSU received a bomb threat, prompting this evacuation."

Bonnie Amistadi, of KFGO Radio Fargo, said the evacuation was a large-scale effort.

"(There are) around 14,000 students at NDSU, so you add in another several thousand staff members,"  Amistadi said. "Many of them leaving in vehicles, others have been seen walking away from campus."

Also, the University of Texas says a threat came from a man claiming to have placed bombs all over campus. It's not clear if the threats are in any way connected.

"There was one at Hector International Airport in North Fargo on 9/11," she said. "There were a couple of other ones that were sort of strange this week at the airport.  NDSU is not terribly far from the airport, within a mile, so no idea if these are connected."
