Family Of 4 Missing After Duluth Boating Trip Found Safe
DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) -- A family of four has been found safe after being reported missing after going out for a boating trip on Lake Superior Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The station reported that the family left Silver Bay on Sunday afternoon and were heading to the Palisade Head area on the North Shore. The trip was only supposed to take a couple of hours, and someone reported their vessel was overdue early Monday morning.
The Lake County and St. Louis County Rescue Squads were recruited, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, to search the area between Grand Marais and Duluth.
The Coast Guard reported that the family was found in good condition. The family of four included two boys, ages 11 and 12.
Few other details were immediately available about the rescue effort. More information is expected later on Monday.
