Repairs Made To Vandalized 35W Bridge Memorial
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Repairs to the vandalized bridge collapse memorial in Minneapolis were made on Monday.
Vandals pried 23 characters off the I-35W Remembrance Garden and "survivor wall" which was dedicated on Aug. 1. The wall holds messages from survivors of the 2007 bridge collapse and victims' families. Officials removed the rest of the letters after the vandalism occurred.
Workers re-installed the letters so the memorial will once again read, "Our lives are not only defined by what happens, but by how we act in the face of it, not only by what life brings us, but by what we bring to life."
Minnesota Public Radio News reports no arrests have been made for the vandalism.
