Rep. Bachmann Claims $1M Raised In July

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Rep. Michele Bachmann is claiming she raised $1 million in July toward her reelection campaign.

Though Bachmann has spent much of the month at the center of controversy over comments that there was an infiltration of the "Muslim Brotherhood" on Capitol Hill, Bachmann's campaign attributed her fundraising totals to "the resolve of her supporters."

"I'm grateful for the support I've received so far and I know if we can sustain this grassroots movement, we will be victorious in the fall," said Bachmann in her campaign's press release. "Minnesotans are tired of the same empty rhetoric out of Washington, and they know my time is genuinely focused on keeping America strong and growing."

Bachmann is running in Minnesota's 6th congressional district.

Jim Graves has won the DFL party endorsement to run against Bachmann.
