Redwood Falls Man Killed In Kandiyohi County Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 29-year-old Redwood Falls man is dead, a 50-year-old man is in critical condition and five others were hurt in a four-vehicle crash in Kandiyohi County on Christmas Eve, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities said the accident happened at the intersection of Highway 71 and Highway 7 in Kandiyohi County. A 2011 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on Highway 7 when it failed to stop for a traffic signal and struck a Ford pickup truck. That truck then rolled onto two vehicles, killing one person and injuring six others.
The victim has been identified as Justin R. Gustafson of Redwood Falls. John Gustafson, 50 of Redwood Falls, is in a hospital and has been upgraded from critical to satisfactory condition.
The accident remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol with assistance from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
