Red Lake Man Pleads Guilty To Fatal Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Red Lake man pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash that killed a teenage girl in 2009.
On Tuesday, Kyle Mitchell Lee Hardy admitted in his plea agreement that he drove a pickup truck while drunk back in August 2009.
Police said he attended a party in Redby, Minn. and left with two other teens riding in the back of his truck. Hardy was 18 at the time.
He admitted that he failed to make a turn and drove the truck off the road. The two teens riding in the truck bed were thrown out. One of them died while the other got a broken ankle.
Hardy, now 21, faces a maximum of 8 years in prison. His sentence will be determined at later time.
