Ramsey GOP, DFL Party Leaders Team Against Stadium
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Top Democratic and Republican party leaders in Ramsey County are teaming up to call the proposed Vikings stadium in Arden Hills a bad deal for their county.
Ramsey County DFL Chairman Rod Halvorson and James Carson, the county GOP's 4th Congressional District chairman, released a joint statement Wednesday. They urged party activists and citizens of Ramsey County to contact Gov. Mark Dayton, their state lawmakers and county commissioners to oppose what they called a "horrible agreement" between the team and members of the county board.
Vikings stadium talks at the Capitol continued Wednesday as the Department of Transportation prepared to release a final estimate of transportation costs tied to building in Arden Hills. But legislative leaders remained insistent the stadium proposal won't move through the legislative process until they reach an elusive budget agreement with Dayton.
