Ramp, Lane Closures In Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation is warning of a few closures that may affect travelers in the Twin Cities metro this weekend and early next week.
Over the weekend, the downtown Minneapolis ramp from 6th Street onto eastbound Interstate 94 will be closed. Crews are working to resurface the road between 5th Avenue South and 13th Avenue South.
Motorists are asked to detour over to Cedar Avenue instead.
On Monday morning, traffic on northbound Interstate 35E will be reduced to one lane between Shepard Road and West 7th Street.
The lane reduction will last from 9 a.m. Monday through 5 a.m. Tuesday.
MnDOT said the closure is needed to allow new concrete to cure. It's part of a larger project to fix up I-35E.
