SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico police say a 30-year-old tourist from Minnesota has died while snorkeling off the island's north coast.
Police said the victim was snorkeling with several other people about a mile (kilometer) off Cerro Gordo beach in Vega Alta. The others were rescued.
Police did not immediately have the victim's home town.
Meteorologists had issued a high surf advisory on Saturday warning of waves up to 12 feet (four meters) through early Monday.
