'Project Homeless Connect' Provides Help To Homeless
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hennepin County held its 12th annual Project Homeless Connect Monday. The event is a one stop shop for people who are either homeless or close to being homeless.
At the Minneapolis Convention Center Customers first met one on one with counselors and were then giving access to the things they needed most.
"Project Homeless Connect is one piece of a much larger strategy that we have in this community at ending homelessness. We're trying to make it easier for people to connect to prevent or end their homelessness," said the event's coordinator, Kathy Ten Broeke.
More than 400 service providers helped out nearly 2,000 people at the event.
They were given everything from haircuts, to dental services to employment training.
