Wis. Prep Wrestlers In Court On Misconduct Charges
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (AP) -- Four Wood County high school wrestlers charged with disorderly conduct after being accused of sexually harassing a younger teammate entered not guilty pleas Monday.
The Lincoln High School students are charged with disorderly conduct for a locker room incident involving a freshman wrestler. Prosecutors say Devin Peterson, Kasey Einerson and Ryland Lubeck, all 17, as well as 18-year-old Zak Benitz danced naked in front of the boy and touched him with their genitals. The 15-year-old told authorities he was harassed about five to ten times during the 2010-2011 wrestling season.
WSAW-TV says Peterson and Einerson appeared in court Monday, while attorneys for Benitz and Lubeck appeared on their behalf. The wrestling coach, Scott Benitz, father of one of the accused boys, had no comment.
