Prank Caller Impersonates Cop, Criticizes Drivers
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) -- St. Cloud police are trying to figure out who is posing as an officer and calling residents to criticize their driving.
Police say several St. Cloud residents reported receiving calls Friday evening from a phone number that showed up on caller ID as the St. Cloud Police Department's non-emergency number.
The male caller told them to pay their delinquent fines, which they don't actually owe or he complained about their driving habits.
KNSI-AM reports that St. Cloud police never call residents to pay unpaid fees and don't use their non-emergency number to make outgoing calls.
