Powerball Jackpot Up To $360 Million
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – There were no big winners in the Powerball jackpot over the weekend, and the prize for Wednesday's drawing just keeps growing.
Officials said the jackpot has grown to about $360 million, which is the third-highest in the history of the game. Excitement for such a large sum of money always seems to catch in this game, and expect gas stations and convenience stores to have long lines Wednesday as players snatch up their tickets for the next drawing.
It used to take several months for jackpots to get in excess of $300 million, but now it happens much faster because tickets are $2 each. The Powerball record was set last year at close to $580 million.
If somebody wins Wednesday night's grand prize, the cash payout would be about $229 million.
