Possible Clues In Mankato Human Remains Search
MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -- Authorities have found some "items of interest" in the search for human remain near Mankato.
The search resumed Friday for the source of a human bone brought to a neighborhood just east of Mankato by a dog last fall. It was cut short by snowfall in November.
The Free Press reports the newfound items are being examined at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Lab in St. Paul. Capt. Rich Murry of the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Department says he believes investigators are closer to an answer.
Investigators suspect the bone found last fall is linked to the disappearance of 26-year-old Matthew Albrecht of Mapleton. DNA testing is underway to determine whether the bone matches that of Albrecht.
