Ponemah Drunk Driver Gets 2 Years For Manslaughter
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (AP) -- A 62-year-old Ponemah man will serve two years in prison for a drunken driving accident in 2009 that killed his passenger.
Bruce Dow Sr. was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Fergus Falls for one count of involuntary manslaughter. Dow admitted to accidentally causing the death of his passenger while driving under the influence. The victim was thrown from Dow's vehicle when it rolled over and later died at a hospital.
Ponemah is one of four communities that make up the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota.
