Ponder Getting Peterson More Involved In Pass Game
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- Ever since Christian Ponder took over at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, Adrian Peterson's role in the passing game has been steadily increasing.
The team's most dynamic player had just seven catches for 49 yards in the first five weeks with Donovan McNabb under center. In Ponder's second start of the season, Peterson had five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in a victory over the Carolina Panthers two weeks ago.
The Vikings had a bye last week, and Ponder says he will continue to look for Peterson through the air when they play at Green Bay on Monday night. The rookie says he is just taking what the defense gives him and knows that Peterson can turn even a short pass into a big play.
